Main Purpose
An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious individual to contribute to the smooth running of a busy Transport department. The successful candidate will assist drivers ensuring that delivery deadlines are met, and all occurrences are communicated correctly. The candidate will report to the Thirsk Depot Manager and will also liaise with other departments to achieve the roles objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the Depot Manager in the day-to-day transport operation, communicating with administrators, planners and drivers.
- Liaising with the Warehouse Operations team to ensure customer service levels are maintained
- Maintaining and updating spreadsheets and databases for KPI reports
- Ensuring Defects are monitored and ensuring vehicles are legally compliant.
- Carrying out management Vehicle Checks & Vehicle Maintenance Tasks
- Ad hoc Delivery duties as required.
- Completing New Driver Assessments, Inductions, Training and Mentoring of new staff members.
- Delivery/Collection of vehicles from maintenance provider
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent knowledge of driver legislation
- Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft packages, in particular Excel
- Experience in a similar role
- Clear written and verbal communication
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Full Driver CPC
- Full UK Class 2 licence
