Shift Pattern Monday - Friday (including occasional weekend work, subject to business needs) 48 hours
Reporting To Head of Operations

Main Purpose


The purpose of this role is to provide the necessary leadership and provide the appropriate management of all aspects of Enfield depot operations in terms of HSE, transport, warehouse, the movement of goods (in, out and within the premises), the secure control and storage of all goods (both physically and systems-wise), the safe movement of all vehicles, the picking and preparation of all outbound deliveries/pickups and the overall provision of a supply chain management service.

Key Responsibilities


  • Managing both warehouse, drivers and daily activities.
  • Recruiting and training staff.
  • Performance & probation reviews of all staff.
  • Producing & approving payroll for all staff.
  • Managing, evaluating, and reporting on warehouse productivity.
  • Performing investigations / disciplinaries as and when required.
  • Maintaining and updating TMS system.
  • Updating and sharing relevant reports on a daily basis including Van Usage, Depot Costings.
  • Attend all relevant meetings for both warehouse and Transport.
  • Communicating and coordinating with other departments.
  • Maintain roadworthy vehicles in line with VOSA guide to roadworthiness.
  • Ensure all drivers hours are monitored and controlled in accordance with EC driver’s hours regulations.
  • Strictly follow the PMI schedule.
  • Manage all other aspects of Operator Compliance.
  • Ensure every delivery is signed for either on paperwork or PDA.
  • Ensure all PDAs are in full working order or repaired quickly.
  • Clearly communicate with all departments the delivery/service performance including failure reporting.
  • To ensure sufficient resource is available for the daily delivery requirement.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and security of the warehouse and vehicles.
  • Scheduling equipment maintenance by booking jobs at appropriate service agents (or in house).
  • Ensuring all accidents and incidents are reported in compliance with company and HSE policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications


  • Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Able to use tachograph analysis software.
  • Transport Manager CPC.
  • Ability to analyse trends and suggest improvements.
  • Sound geographical UK road network knowledge.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety Legislation and able to partner with the Leadership and Management Teams in the implementation and communication of Health and Safety issues.
  • Previously responsible for holding and managing an Operators Licence.
  • Previous experience managing responsibilities under an Operators Licence.
